MC LYTE

First female to perform hip hop in the White House and first African American female to serve as the President of the Los Angeles chapter of the Recording Academy (Grammy Organization): these are just the first of many firsts.  Lyricist, inspirational speaker, dj, pioneer, icon, veteran and entrepreneur describe one of the most prolific and well-respected female Hip Hop artists of all time: MC Lyte.  She has consistently found ways to reinvent herself musically, while expanding her resume and gaining new fans. A current member of the Board of Trustees of Dillard University and reared in Brooklyn, New York, MC Lyte always has her finger on Hip Hop’s pulse. Many are familiar with her stellar music making skills, but over the course of her extensive career, MC Lyte has ventured out to other avenues that have allowed her to show the world just how talented she truly is.

A pioneer in the industry, she opened the door for future female Hip Hop artists by daring to do what had never been done while doing something she loved. MC Lyte is the FIRST rap artist ever to perform at New York’s historic Carnegie Hall, the FIRST female rapper to ever receive a gold single, the FIRST female solo rapper ever nominated for a Grammy and in 2006, MC Lyte became the FIRST solo female rapper to be honored/inducted on VH-1’s HIP HOP HONORS.

MC Lyte has graced network television as well as the big screen and she has been the voice behind the VH1 Hip Hop Honors and national campaigns for Wherehouse Music, Coca-Cola, McDonald’s and Nike.  She is the hot of Morning Cup on Centric and recently unveiled her lyrical talent, once again, to the world with the release of her latest album, LEGEND.

CHEF FELICIA GUIMONT

Chef Felicia Guimont is the owner and founder of Southern Best Catering and OMG Cakes. She touts these as two companies with one mission – “quality service”. She started her catering company in 1997, while she was a team lead at Texas Instruments. Now, as a full-time chef, Felicia has a staff of 12 and finds peace in the kitchen, as it’s her safe haven.

Felicia finds comfort in giving to others and she does so freely. Over the last few years, she has sponsored several organizations and events in the DFW area. She has a fondness for giving back to non-profits, organizations that assist the homeless, children organizations and those suffering from domestic violence.

While many call her a Celebrity Chef, she turns the description around. She says that all her clients are celebrities and she vows to treat them as such by giving them the Southern BEST experience.

MAURICE JOHNSON

A born and raised New Yorker with a bachelor's degree in broadcast communications. Maurice Johnson is an author, motivator, red-carpet correspondent, tv enthusiast and many more.

 Maurice serves as Executive Producer of his own "Moments with Maurice" Show and also serves on the YESLORDRADIO board of advisory out of Nashville, TN as a Red-Carpet correspondent, and Lead Ambassador over Middle TN region. Furthermore, He travels across the world hosting various Red Carpets and social events such as Celebration of Gospel, The Doves, The BET Awards, Grammys, Bravo Tv (Thicker than Water), Soul Train Awards just to name a few. Also, to mention Maurice was a guest on the number one hit reality show on WeTv Mary Mary season 5.

Nevertheless, with his innovative skills Maurice has graced the carpet with and also interviewed such awesome people in the music and acting industry such as: Kirk Franklin, Debra Lee (Former CEO of BET Networks), Tasha Cobb Leonard, Toni Braxton, David and Tamela Mann, Fonzworth Bentley, Kenny Lattimore, Taraji P. ASANTE MCGEE

A portion of Asante’s story of abuse debuted recently in the ground-breaking Lifetime Television documentary series “Surviving R. Kelly”. She like the other women in the documentary emerged from the shadows and told her story of survival.

 

Asante is touring the country telling her story of triumph to women, young girls and their families.  Most notably, she has been a sought-after speaker during Sexual Assault Awareness Month to tell her compelling story of overcoming abuse, how she learned to love herself, and how she navigated the pitfalls of life.

K.C.FOX

K.C. Fox is a 20-year-veteran of the American Broadcast Industry; an American Media Professional, a maven and a subject matter expert in the industry. When it comes to broadcast television, she has literally done in all. KC is most known for her Lady General Franchise in addition to her keynote speaking, leadership courses, breakout sessions, and advocacy work in domestic violence and young female leader’s initiatives.

K.C. has been featured in a number of publications notably for her leadership and barrier breaker accomplishments and has received several awards nationally and locally. Most recently, KC received 2016. 3rd edition inclusion into “Who’s Who in Black Dallas”.   In 2014 she was named “One of Dallas Most Influential Women” by the Steed Society and Rolling out Magazine. In 2015, she was awarded the Woman of Excellence Award by Women of Distinction national publication. In 2016 she was named “The Best of the Best in Television Media” by The Examiner.com

She currently works for Tribune Media, where she holds the title VP of Broadcasting Technology and On- Air Operations. Tribune is one of the country’s largest media outlets owning 42 television stations to include the WGN superstation. K.C. has been noted as the only female as well as one the youngest to hold this title making it even more notable owning it in the fifth largest market in the country.

A strong and empowered woman, KC served 9 years in the United States Air Force, where she honorably completed a tour to Northern Iraq in support of

Operation Iraq and Enduring Freedom. She served as the primary training combat communications Sergeant for the 506 Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron, worked as the primary Assistant to the Battle Captain in combat operations and served as the Base Defense Operating Center Air Force/ Army Liaison to the Joint Tactical Operation Center for the entry control point sector. KC worked as a Primary Security Forces instructor at Ft Wolters Regional Training Center where she was named "Top Instructor" several times and was adored by her students and superiors.
