(DALLAS) March 14,2018 - PullCorp recognizes KJ “Midday” Bland radio veteran and midday host of 105.7 Smooth R&B Dallas. With a Voice and Personality that stands out from the crowd, KJ was able to move up from receptionist at her local radio station in Louisville KY to part time DJ on a #1 urban station in Louisville to assistant program director, musical director and then program director for three major stations in the Louisville market. Making her the first African- American woman to program three urban stations concurrently.
KJ Bland is a woman to watch because she not only speaks to the community through the radio waves but goes out and helps them directly through her service. She has devoted her time to helping under-served young people and the homeless population. Her efforts are also in spreading awareness for the cure for women fighting breast cancer and aiding women who have suffered at the hand of domestic violence by volunteering at battered women’s shelters.
In her community and in her professional life KJ is a woman who is admired for her ambition, professionalism and achievements in the world of radio. She has been named YMCA’s Adult Achiever of the year, Blue chip broadcasting personality of the year, 10 shades of success recipient and Who’s Who in Black Dallas.
HERstory continues to be written through her passion for raising her Voice for African-American women in radio and serving the city of Dallas.
